Sukumpol brushes off coup rumour

Defence Minister Sukumpol Suwanatat on Thursday rejected a rumour of a movement to topple the government by force, saying that the media should not pay any attention to it.

He said this when asked to comment on a remark by Pheu Thai MP for Samut Prakan Worachai Hema that "the old power clique" was assembling an armed force in the eastern province of Chachoengsao as part of preparations to overthrow the government.

"We have closely followed the news, and believe nobody would do that. Don't make much news out of it," ACM Sukumpol said.

Another baseless coup rumour from a Puea Thai MP, immediately rebutted by his own party member, sounds to me like they need to create some diversionary news, could it be that this Yoawapa story is becoming a little uncomfortable.

Pheu Thai MP for Samut Prakan Worachai Hema should seek some counselling. He is obviously suffering from paranoia.

A coup at the moment will trigger a series of events that will be catastrophic to Thailand that could well lead to it splitting into three separate countries. Even the military can't be stupid enough to risk that.

I want to see another coup from the military. I want to see majority people in ThaiLand come out after the coup to protect their freedom of speech and liberty. I really like to see ThaiLand as a democracy country.

I like to see civil war in ThaiLand so the country can move forward. I don't care who is the winner or losser I just want one government choosing by the majority Thai people to run the country. Life may be lost by in the end we can move forward.

Personally I don’t like the current government and I also don’t want to see another coup. But if the government continues the way it does then I would not be surprised if another coup would happen.
If the Shinawatra government wants to make sure there is no further coup I suggest they should do the following:
    - Don’t whitewash criminals
    - Don’t borrow 2 trillion for useless mega-projects and BIG COMMISSION
    - Work for all people of Thailand including the people in Bangkok who oppose this government and including the people in the south
With a just and mindful government there is no reason for a coup.
