Warrant out for suspect in Issara killing

The Yala provincial court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Abdulloh Tapoh-oh in connection with the roadside bomb that killed Yala deputy governor Issara Thongthawat in Bannang Sata district on April 5.

Abdulloh: Wanted over deadly blast

Yala assistant governor Chaovalit Chairuek was also killed in the attack while their driver, Satorpa Jehloh, was critically injured.

If arrested, the suspect would likely be charged with alleged involvement in an act of terrorism, premeditated murder of government officials, possession of explosives, as well as causing an explosion that resulted in deaths, injuries, and property damage.

Police say the results of DNA tests on samples taken from the attack scene matched the DNA of Mr Abdulloh, 26.

An analysis of the suspect's handwriting also matched a handwritten message which read: "I've been waiting so long for you", which was left at the attack scene.

The handwriting, examined by a forensic specialist, matched with samples contained on several documents taken from Mr Abdulloh's home, according to the investigators.

It was also discovered that Mr Abdulloh's DNA matched that of a suspect wanted in connection with the killing and beheading of two soldiers in Bannang Sata in 2009.
