NARATHIWAT : Police have arrested two men on suspicion of transporting methamphetamine pills worth 23 million baht to be smuggled into Malaysia.
The two suspects, identified as Chalat Lachai, 29, and Niamin Ningo, 24, were intercepted by police as they parked their 10-wheel truck by a local road in Sungai Kolok's Ban Kualosila late yesterday morning. Officers said they found 94,000 speed pills in the suspects' possession.
Police have accused the pair of acting as drug couriers hired to take the ya ba pills from Tak Bai district to Sungai Kolok district, which borders Kelantan State in Malaysia.
