TAO chairman slain in Pattani

The chairman of the Mayo tambon administration organisation (TAO) in Pattani province was shot dead in his home on Wednesday afternoon. 

Pol Lt Col Jirasith Lomae, deputy chief of the Mayo district police, said Ahama Kumo, 49, chairman of Panan TAO, was shot twice in the head by a man using an AK47 rifle. He died instantly.

Mr Ahama was resting in his house in Ban Nape, tambon Panan when three men arrived in a white pick-up truck. Two of them walked into the house and one opened fire at Ahama.
