The bomb explosion on Thursday which wounded eight soldiers in Yala province underlined attempts by insurgents to disrupt plans to reduce violence during Ramadan, Deputy Prime Minister Pol Gen Pracha Promnok said.

Pol Gen Pracha said the incident in Raman district was to intended to challenge calls for peace during the fasting month, which began on Wednesday.
