Soldier wounded by Pattani bomb

A soldier was injured in a road bomb explosion in Narathiwat's Sungai Kolok district on Wednesday morning, police said.

District police chief Pol Lt Col Taweesak Raksakarn said the attack, about 8.50am, targetted three armoured vehicles carrying 14 soldiers patrolling the Sungai Kolok - Sungai Padi road.

The bomb, which was buried in the road, was detonated at a three-way intersection near Ban Toluebae in the Sungai Kolok municipality.

The explosion wounded Pvt Krit Piboon, 22, a passenger in one of the vehicles.
