2 hurt in Pattani shooting

Gun and bomb violence left two civilians wounded in Pattani’s Khok Pho Tuesday.

Sawai Sriklin, 43, and Chalee Sripan, 38, were shot and wounded by an unknown number of armed men in tambon Tha Rua about 11.55am.  They were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Shortly later, a bomb exploded in front of the Ruenkaew shop in tambon Tha Rua, slightly damaging a pickup truck carrying defence volunteers to the scene of the shooting.

Everyone in the truck escaped unhurt.

Pol Lt Pramote Ouichuay, a duty officer at Khok Pho police station, was alerted about the shooting and bomb attacks. Police are investigating both incidents.
