A ranger was seriously wounded in a roadside bomb explosion while on patrol in Pattani's Yaring district on Sunday morning, police said.
The incident occurred at about 7.50am while a team of nine rangers from Rangers Company 4205 was on foot patrol along Route 4601.
While the patrol was between Dalo and Lako villages in tambon Manangyong, a home-made bomb stuffed in a steel box laid on a road side was detonated.
A ranger, Chatmongkol Sukthorn, was seriously injured in the explosion. He was admitted to Pattani Hospital.
