Two homemade bombs exploded in Pattani early today, injuring a soldier.
Post Today reported that the first bomb blew up on the Mayo-Palat road in Mayo district, wounding Pvt Chotiros Kanhakul of Pattani Task Force 25 while a patrol was providing security for teachers travelling to schools.
The second bomb went off while a pickup truck with five policemen on board was on security patrol for teachers on the road near Moo 1 village in tambon Karubi of Kapho district. The vehicle was damaged, but the policemen were not hurt.
Pol Maj Gen Kriskorn Phlithanyawong, the Pattani police chief, sent an urgent radio message to police in all 12 districts of Pattani to be on high alert following the two explosions.
