Murder suspect arrested in Songkhla

SONGKHLA -- A combined police and military force arrested a murder suspect in a raid on a house in Sabayoi district on Sunday morning, Manager Online reported.

The force laid siege to the house in tambon Thung Pho and arrested Abdulloh Mabo, 39, who was wanted under a warrant issued by the Na Thawi Provincial Court for the murder of Ek-udom Sasutham, 29, a ranger attached to Ranger Company 4206 of the Pattani-based 42nd Ranger Regiment.

Ek-udom was found dead in a rubber plantation near Ban Khok Tok in tambon Thung Pho of Sabayoi district on Nov 19. He had been shot five times in the body with a 9mm pistol.

Found in a search of the house were one 9mm pistol with 17 rounds of ammunition, seven rounds of shotgun ammunition, and a mobile phone.

The suspect, who denied the charges, was taken to Sabayoi district police station for further questioning.

Mr Abdulloh was once charged along with 16 others with illegal assembly of armed elements in support of a separatist movement. He was acquitted of the charge in 2010.
