PATTANI -- Three members of a village security team were wounded, one seriously, by a bomb explosion in Mae Lan district on Wednesday, police said.
The bomb detonated about 4.05pm at Ban Lapo in tambon Parai of Mae Lan district.
The Ban Lapo security team was patrolling a road passing the village, providing security for teachers and students. A home-made bomb planted under a coconut tree was detonated as they passed.
The explosion seriously wounded Somchai Sae Tiew, an assistant village chief. Samrit Toburi, another assistant village chief, and Nong Kaewkongsuk, a team member, were slightly injured.
