No casualties in Narathiwat bomb blast

NARATHIWAT — A bomb was detonated as a military patrol on teacher security duty was passing a village in Sungai Kolok district on Monday morning, but nobody was hurt by the explosion.

Pol Capt Banpot Pothiphet, an investigator at Muno police station, said the bomb exploded about  8am, targeting a seven-member unit patrolling along the Sungai Kolok River on two motorcycles and a pickup truck, near Ban Padangyo in tambon Muno.

The bomb was hidden in an antihill and detonated remotely. The blast caused minor damage to the pickup truck, but no casualties.
