TAK -- Eleven illegal migrants were found hiding in the luggage compartment of a Bangkok-bound tour bus in Mae Sot district early Monday morning.
The nine men and two women were found duing a search of the Mae Sot - Bangkok bus by soldiers from the 4th Infantry Task Force Regiment at Ban Huay Hin Fon security checkpoint in tambon Mae Pa, about 12.30am.
They were hiding in the luggage compartment of the bus. None of them carried proper travel documents.
They were handed over the Tak immigration office for further legal action and repatriation.
Thanathip Rattanakrachang, 48, the tour bus driver, was charged with bringing illegal migrant labour into the country.
