PATTANI -- Two soldiers of an engineering battalion were wounded by a land mine explosion in Sai Buri district on Sunday afternoon, police said.
The incident occurred about 4pm when a ten-wheel truck of the 15th Engineering Battalion encountered the land mine on a road near Ban Ton in tambon Trobon while delivering sand to build a road in the area.
The explosion caused the truck to skid off the road and hit a roadside tree.
Sgt Ekmongkol Khamkaew and volunteer ranger Monthian Thonglaem were wounded. They were admitted to Sai Buri Hospital.
The truck was damaged.
