Sri Lanka bat first as Mills makes England T20 debut

SOUTHAMPTON (UNITED KINGDOM) - England gave a debut to exciting Sussex quick bowler Tymal Mills for the one-off Twenty20 international against Sri Lanka at the Ageas Bowl on Tuesday.

The 23-year-old Mills, rated as "the fastest bowler I have faced" by England captain Eoin Morgan, was given his chance to prove his pace and potential having continued to impress in county T20 cricket this summer.

England went into the contest hoping to complete the clean sweep over the tourists having captured both the Test series and one-day series.

Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews won the toss and decided to bat first in the early evening south coast sunshine, with his side determined to finish their disappointing tour on a positive note before flying home on Wednesday.

The tourists called up seam bowler Farveez Maharoof and spinner Ramith Rambukwella to their team in place of Suranga Lakmal and Upal Tharanga.
