TORONTO (CANADA) - Stan Wawrinka stormed into his first semi-final at the ATP Toronto Masters tournament on Friday by thrashing South Africa's Kevin Anderson 6-1, 6-3.

The Swiss second seed will await an opponent as Japan's third seed Kei Nishikori faces off with former top-10 player Grigor Dimitrov, now ranked 40th.
Wawrinka was in full flow as he swept the opening set in a master-class display against his South African opponent, against whom he now stands 5-4.
Anderson, rankd 34th, has yet to reach the final four at the Masters 1000 level, losing in all seven of his attempts.
Victory took just 73 minutes, with the big-hitting Anderson limited to six aces wile losing serve four times.
"It was a really good match, I started really well the first game," Wawrinka said.
"It's one of the best matches of the year I've played. It showed me that I was ready, aggressive, moving really well. I was calm, served very good and mixed up my game."
Double Grand Slam winner Wawrinka, the world number five, is chasing his fourth title of the season after success at Chennai, Dubai and Geneva. He stands 31-10 in 2016 as he moves into his first Masters semi-final of the current campaign.
