RIO DE JANEIRO - Gold-medal hopeful Siripuch Gulnoi fouled out of the 63kg weightlifting event early Wednesday in a disappointing finish.
Siripuch lifted 108kg in the snatch, but failed to make a clean lift in any of her three attempts at the clean and jerk.
Deng Wei of China won the event with a total lift of 262kg - 115kg in the snatch and 147kg in the clean and jerk.
Choe Hyo Sim of North Korea (248kg) and Karina Goricheva of Kazakhstan (243kg) won the silver and bronze medals respectively.
