RIO DE JANEIRO - Russia won the women's fencing sabre team gold at the Rio Olympics on Saturday, beating the Ukraine 45-30 in the final.

Ukraine took silver with the United States claiming bronze, after beating Italy 45-30 in the third-place match.
The US team included Muslim-American fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, the first US Olympian to wear a hijab during competition.
The event was not included in the 2012 Olympics with the Ukraine winning gold in Beijing 2008.
