Even though the Rio Games just wrapped up, the scent of sports is still in the air. In an effort to offer families a chance to spend quality time together, the Thai Junior Golfer Guardian Association (TJGGA) Optimist Club of Bangkok will be staging its annual Magic of Golf and Family Fun Day meet with a golf clinic and seminar next Wednesday at the Enagic Thailand office. The event, from 6-8pm, is free of charge and open to the public.

The evening will kick off with the Black Hat Golf Skills Squad, led by local Thai and US PGA pro Tony Meechai and his team of professionals showcasing ready-to-use short-game skills for both parents and children.

This will be followed by games, food and drinks.

Fun begins with the Black Hat (Tony Meechai) and his Skills Squad, made up of talented golf coaches, working with parents and their children, who can be of all ages and skill levels, letting them enjoy and experience golf's dynamics. Instructions will be in both English and Thai; people of all walks of life are welcome.

Meechai said the game of golf can be enjoyed for a lifetime, and while it's wonderful to get youngsters involved at an early age, there is no age limit. So no one is ever too old to start.

From his personal experience, Meechai has found that golf is more than just a sport, describing it as a mindset and a lifestyle that teaches positive human values like honesty, respect, patience and hard work. Not just that -- it also fosters friendships and encourages camaraderie among those from around the world who share a passion for the game. It also offers the kind of rich and valuable memories of bonding among families that you can't get by going to the movies or eating in restaurants.

For those who already play, coaches will be on hand to assist with questions on various aspects of golf. For players of all ages looking for some assistance improving their game, coaches can work with them one-on-one to bring positive results.

Tony and his team promise that this will be a special golf clinic to not just help you on the right path with your game, but to strengthen your family ties.

Event supporter TJGGA Optimist Club of Bangkok has been promoting junior golf for many years. They actively encourage the development of young players. The event is open to only 30 participants.
