Thailand are ready to take on Taiwan in the final of the Davis Cup Asia/Oceania Group 2 today.

The winners of the match will be promoted to Group 1 next year.

The official draw for the match took place yesterday at the National Tennis Development Centre, Muang Thong Thani, which is also the venue for the competition.

As the result of the draw, Thailand No.2 Kittiphong Wachiramanowong will take on Taiwan's No.1 Yang Tsung-hua and the home team's No.1 Pruchya Isarow will meet second-ranked Taiwanese Lee Kuan-yi in today's singles.

In tomorrow's doubles clash, Thailand will be represented by twins Sonchat and Sanchai Ratiwatana, who will face the Taiwanese duo of Hung Jui-chen and Wang Chieh-fu.

The reverse singles matches on Sunday will see Pruchya meet Yang and Kittiphong play against Lee.

Kittiphong said: "I am fit and ready for the match.

"I have both played and trained with Yang many times. We are friends and know each other's game very well.

"I don't think there will be any long rallies in the match with Yang.

"He is used to the Thai weather so I won't be getting any home advantage. I will try my best to get point for the team."

Yang said: "I have played with Kittiphong many times and know him very well.

"However, playing a best-of-five sets match in hot Thai weather can have an effect on my performance.

"Every Taiwan team player here has prepared very well and is ready for the tournament."

Thailand's No.1 Pruchya said: "I lost to Lee Kuan-yi in the ITF Pro Circuit finals two weeks ago in Hua Hin but at that time, I was not fully fit. I am now in a better shape as my knee is getting better and I will try to do my best to beat him."

Twins Sonchat and Sanchai said: "For the doubles event, we don't know whether Taiwan will change the players or not but it doesn't matter.

"It is never easy against a strong team like Taiwan and we will have to limit our unforced errors. We are confident that we can win the doubles match-up."
