Singha Corporation has singed a new two-year sponsorship contract with Formula One racer Kimi Raikkonen.

Both parties, who started their partnership with a two-year deal in 2015, have agreed to extend their contract for another two years.

Under the new deal, the 2007 world champion of Ferrari will be an ambassador for the company until 2018.

Singha executive Voravud Bhiromkhadi said that the company was proud to support motorsport at home and abroad.

He said it had been a pleasure to work with Finland's Raikkonen and that the relationship had been a success for all concerned parties.

Raikkonen, 36, said that one of the reasons for him to work with Singha was Voravud himself was a racer and had played a key role in the company's efforts to support the development of young talent.

"This is not just for business but also for motorsport,'' Raikkonen said.

The Finn yesterday took part in the Singha Junior Cart Cup by Kimi Raikkonen in Bangkok to give young racers driving tips.

Raikkonen, who is currently fourth in the drivers' standings, said his target was to be in the top three at the end of the season.

There are five races remaining this season with the next one being this week's Japan Grand Prix.
