Veteran Prayad Marksaeng will miss the Champions Tour's final qualifying stage due to personal reasons.

The 50-year-old, who is the money leader on the Japan Senior Tour after his fourth win of the season on Sunday, wanted to seek a playing card for the US senior circuit in the qualifying event next month.

But he decided to scrap that plan as the event is to be held in the same week as the royally-sponsored cremation for his wife Prapaporn.

The function will take place on Nov 27 while the qualifying tournament is scheduled from Nov 29-Dec 2, his handlers said.

Although Prayad's dream to be a member of the Champions Tour will now not be realised next year, he will still be eligible to play in three senior majors if he claims the Japan Tour's money title.

Prayad is leading in the Japan Senior Tour's money race with ¥56,503,000 (about 19 million baht).

There are five events remaining this year, but the Thai will only compete at the Fujifilm Senior Championship from Nov 3-5.

Meanwhile, Thongchai Jaidee, Kiradech Aphibarnrat and Prom Meesawat are all in England to take part in this week's British Masters.

Kiradech returns to the European circuit after failing to earn a PGA Tour card through the Web.com Tour.

Currently ranked 47th in the Race to Dubai, Kiradech needs to move into the top 30 by Monday to qualify for the WGC-HSBC Championship from Oct 27-30. However, as long as he remains in the top 60 until Nov 13 he'll earn a ticket to Europe's season-ending World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Prom has only two events left in his bid to keep his European Tour card for next season. He is 126th in the Race to Dubai and must be in the top 110 to remain as a tour member.

Thongchai is looking for his second European Tour title this year.
