The venue is one of the top-100 golf courses in the world in 2015 as ranked by Golf Magazine.

"It is our pride that Ayodhya Links has been selected to be the host for the tournament," said Pitak Intrawityanunt, chairman of Ayodhya Links and the organising committee.

"We'd like Thai fans to cheer our Thai team at the event."

Four players will represent Thailand -- national teams stars Kammalas Namuangruk and Sadom Kaewkanjana, Sombat Saengchati and Tsunemi Watanabe.

Club champions and players from 25 countries will take part in the event including Randy Haag and Kory Storer of the Olympic Club and Paul Moultrie and Michael Smyth of Royal Troon.

The championship will help promote Thailand's culture and tourist attractions, Pitak said.

Activities have been planned for the participants who will get a glimpse of Thai traditions in Bangkok and Ayutthaya, the country's current and past capitals respectively.

"We hope that our planned activities will impress our guests,'' said Ayodhya Links executive Panprapha Intrawityanant.

The opening ceremony will be held on Dec 6.

One of the most exclusive courses in the world, Ayodhya Links has its unique design which provides a tough challenge to golfers.
