Thailand advances to Asean Cup final showdown

Thailand's national football team defeated Myanmar 4-0 at the Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok on Thursday night to reach the AFF Suzuki Cup final.

In the semi-final second leg match, forward Sarawut Masuk scored the first goal in the 33rd minute. Defender Theerathon Bunmathan, forward Siroch Chatthong and midfielder Chanathip Songkrasin added three more goals in the second half. The result was a 6-0 win on aggregate for Thailand over Myanmar.

Four-time champions Thailand will meet Indonesia, who stunned Vietnam in the other semi-final, in the final which is also played over two legs.

Thailand will travel to Indonesia for the first leg on Dec 14 and host the second leg on Dec 17.

Thailand are chasing a record fifth Asean crown while Indonesia will be trying to win their first, having lost in the final four times between 2000 and 2010.
