SCG Muang Thong United's Brazilian striker Cleiton Silva is set to join a Chinese club.

Cleiton has been left out of the Kirins' squad for the AFC Champions League group stage prompting speculation about his future at the Thai champions.

"Cleiton is interested by a Chinese Super League club. All concerned parties are in talks about his transfer. His transfer fee could be more than 100 million baht which would be a Thai League record," said a Muang Thong official.

"His salary would be much more than he gets from us."

Muang Thong have recently sold Thailand defender Tanaboon Kesarat to Chiang Rai United for a record 50 million baht fee.

His current and former teammates have already said farewell to Cleiton.

"Good luck, brother,'' Muang Thong goalkeeper Kawin Thamsatchanan said on his Facebook page. "Hope to see you again. We will miss you."

"It was a pleasure to play with you,'' former Muang Thong forward Mario Gjurovski wrote on Instagram.

"Your are one of the best players in Thailand's football history. A real threat for goalkeepers. Wish you all the best of luck in the Chinese league."

Cleiton, 30, has been one of the most lethal strikers in the Thai League and has topped the scoring charts twice in 2012 and 2016.

He began his stint in Thailand at Osotspa in 2010 before moving to BEC Tero Sasana in 2012. He joined Muang Thong in 2014 following an unsuccessful spell in the Mexican league.
