Raththee Sirithanakunsak claimed his maiden Thai PGA Tour title after winning the two-million-baht Singha-SAT Bangkok Championship at Suvarnabhumi Golf and Country Club on Saturday.
The 27-year-old from Prachin Buri shot a career-best 11-under 61 in yesterday's final round to finish on 21-under 267, three strokes ahead of overnight leader Settee Prakongvech (69), Tirawat Kaewsiribandit (63) and Pijit Petchakasem (66).
Trailing the leader by five shots after three rounds, Raththee made a flying start with two eagles and one birdie in the first four holes before adding one more eagle, five more birdies and having just one bogey.
Tawit Polthai (68) was fifth on 273. Pattaraphol Khanthacha (66), Wisut Artjanawat (67) and Philip Matsson (68) were tied for sixth on 274.
"My driver was quite good today and that is why I had a lot of birdie chances," Raththee said. "My putter was also really sharp.
"Shooting 61 was beyond my expectation. My previous best score was nine under at an ADT [Asian Development Tour] event in Malaysia."
Taking home 240,000 baht, Raththee said with the victory, he had fulfilled his target this year.
"My goal this year was to win at least one tournament whether it's an All Thailand Tour or Thai PGA Tour where I play regularly," said Raththee.
"I won the Boonchu Ruangkit Championship on the All Thailand Tour and I learned a lot from that win. That experience really helped me today."
The next leg on the Thai PGA Tour will be the Singha-SAT Nakhon Nayok Championship at Royal Hills Golf Resort and Spa on May 31-June 3.
