Thai League 1 champions SCG Muang Thong United are hoping for a win against Brisbane Roar in the AFC Champions League tonight to secure their place in the knockout stage.

The match kicks off at 7.30pm at SCG Stadium.

In the other Group E game, South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai host Japan's Kashima Antlers at 5.30pm.

Muang Thong are group leaders with eight points.

They are followed by Kashima (six), Ulsan (four) and Brisbane (four).

A win for Muang Thong will see the Thais get past the group stage for the first time in the continental club championship.

At yesterday's press conference, Muang Thong coach Totchtawan Sripan said: "It will be an important match for us because if we win we will qualify for the knockout stage.

"But we can't underestimate Brisbane. It will be an exciting game and we will try to win."

The Kirins are at almost full strength with only Thailand striker Adisak Kraisorn out injured.

His absence may not be a big problem as the Kirins also have Thailand forward Teerasil Dangda and Spanish marksman Xisco Jimenez.

Brisbane manager John Aloisi said: "We are looking forward to the game.

"We have a limited number of players because of injuries and suspensions, but we will try our best."

Brisbane upset Kashima two weeks ago and Aloisi said he hoped his men could achieve another good result.

Tickets are priced at 200 and 400 baht and available at Thai Ticket Major outlets.
