The midfielder joined the J-League club last month on an 18-month loan deal from Thai League champions SCG Muang Thong United.

The Thailand international played against Muang Thong in a friendly at SCG Stadium on Saturday.

Consadole coach said: "Chanathip will surely be in the squad for the match [today]. But we will make a decision later whether he will play. We need to score goals because we lost 2-0 in the first leg against Cerezo Osaka."

Local media reported that Chanathip is likely to play today because he is an attacking midfielder who could help the team get the goals they need.

The match kicks off at 5pm and will be televised live on True Sport 5 (684).

Meanwhile, Thailand U23 side manager Vatanya Wongopasi said she would give the team one million baht in bonus for securing a spot at next year's AFC U23 Championship.

Thailand are likely to face tough opponents in the group stage as they are in pot three of the draw to be held in September.

The 16 finalists are China (hosts), Oman, Iraq, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Palestine, Australia, North Korea, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Syria, Vietnam, Jordan, Japan and Saudi Arabia.
