LONDON: Harry Kane scored twice as Tottenham Hotspur held off a West Ham United comeback to win 3-2 and maintain their perfect away record in the English Premier League this season.

The victory lifts Spurs into third place, a point ahead of Chelsea, pending the outcome of the Blues' match at Stoke later in the day. West Ham linger just above the relegation zone.

Kane headed in after Dele Alli's pinpoint cross on 34 minutes and pounced for a second goal four minutes later after Alli's shot was saved to put Spurs up 2-0.

Moments after Kane's free-kick cannoned off the post, Christian Eriksen slotted in to put the visitors up 3-0 on the hour mark.

Chicharito pulled one back from close range before Spurs' Serge Aurier was sent off for a second bookable offence after 70 minutes. Cheikhou Kouyate's thumping header for West Ham made it 3-2 and set up a tense finish.
