Ratchanok Intanon took the Denmark Open title in Odense on Sunday after a win over arch-rival Akane Yamaguchi on Sunday.

The Thai world No.9 stunned the Japanese holder 14-21, 21-15, 21-19 to win the champion.

The title was within reach for Yamagushi when she led Ratchanok 19-16 in the decider but  the Thai came from behind by scoring five consecutive points to win the match.

Ratchanok said she dedicated the title to the late King Bhumibol.

Ratchanok beat top seed and world No.1 Tai Tzu-ying of Taiwan 21-14, 20-22, 21-14, while Yamaguchi battled back to defeat Chen Yufei of China in Saturday's semi-finals.

Ratchanok, 22, has been in impressive form this week. She did not drop a game before Saturday's semi-final.

She knocked out third seed Sung Ji-Hyun of South Korea 21-13, 21-18 in the quarter-finals on Friday.
