Hungary's Agnes Szavay cruised through in two sets Saturday to secure her place in the final of the Budapest WTA event against Switzerland's Patty Schnyder.

Hungary's Agnes Szavay, seen here in action in May 2009, cruised through in two sets Saturday to secure her place in the final of the Budapest WTA event against Switzerland's Patty Schnyder.
Local favourite Szavay, ranked 37th in the world, defeated Alona Bondarenko of Ukraine 6-1, 6-2 in a one-hour and unexpectedly one-sided match.
"This match was extremely difficult to handle mentally, I was very tense and could not relax," Szavay said after the game, citing an earlier semi-final defeat on home ground in 2007.
In the other semi-final, Patty Schnyder met Romania's Edina Gallovits, having earlier defeated Alisa Kleybanova of Russia in a three-set quarter-final continued from the previous day.
Top-seed Schnyder controlled the first set against Gallovits but had to fight off the Romanian in the second set before finally claiming victory 6-2, 6-4.
The 21-year-old Szavay will now play Schnyder, 30, in the finals on Sunday.
The tournament winner is set to walk home with 37,000 dollars (26,500 euros).
