Sixth seed Schiavone pulls a "Federer" in US Open win
French Open champion Francesca Schiavone advanced to the fourth round of the US Open on Friday by defeating Ukraine's 29th-seeded Alona Bondarenko 6-1, 7-5.
Number six seeded Francesca Schiavone of Italy returns to Maria Camerin of Italy at the US Open 2010 tennis tournament at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City. Schiavone advanced to the fourth round of the US Open on Friday by defeating Ukraine's 29th-seeded Alona Bondarenko 6-1, 7-5.
The Italian sixth seed will play for a berth in the quarter-finals against Russian 20th seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, who earlier ousted Argentina's Gisela Dulko.
