Thongchai struggles with 76 in final round

CRANS MONTANA : Thai star Thongchai Jaidee shrugged off a poor final round at the Omega European Masters yesterday and quickly turned his attention to next week's inaugural Handa Singapore Classic.

The reigning Asian Tour's Order of Merit champion produced his worst score of the week with a five-over-par 76 at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club to finish in the bottom half of the leaderboard on one-under-par 283.

Chapchai Nirat and Chinnarat Phadungsil shot closing 73s to finish one shot better than their more illustrious countryman in the US$2.8 million event co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour.
