Kaeo beat Kazakhstan's Kapezov 14-9

Light-flyweight Kaeo Pongprayoon beat Kazakhstan's Adlet Kapezov 14-9 on Thursday to reach the second round of the World Amateur Boxing Championships in Milan.

Kaeo, who normally fights in the 45kg division, is handed a tough task against junior world champion Nanao Thokchom of India in today's second round (last 32).
Thokchom comfortably defeated Elvin Mamishadze of Azerbaijan 21-6 in his opening bout.
Thokchom, 18, shot to stardom when he became the first Indian to have won gold at the Junior World Championships last year, one month after his triumph at the Commonwealth Youth Games.
Featherweight Wutthichai Masuk became the second Thai to crash out in the first round after losing 28-3 to Ireland's David Joyce.
Also in action today is bantamweight Chatchai Butdee who faces Anvar Yunusov of Tajikistan in the second round (last 32).
