ZAMBIA HAVE WON THE AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS for the first time in their history after a nail-biting 8-7 penalty-shoot-out victory over favourites Ivory Coast in the Gabonese capital Libreville.
Zambia players celebrate their penalty shoot-out victory over Ivory Coast at the end of the Africa Cup of Nations final at the Stade de l'Amitie in Libreville on February 12. Zambia won the match 8-7 on penalties after the game finished 0-0 after extra-time.
The game ended 0-0 after extra-time after Chelsea striker Didier Drogba missed a penalty in normal time, and Zambia's captain Christopher Katongo hit the post in extra-time.
