Cuban slugger Yoenis Cespedes has agreed to a four-year deal worth $36 million with the Oakland A's, the largest US deal ever for a Cuban, Major League Baseball's website reported on Monday.

Cespedes, a 26-year-old outfielder who spent eight seasons with Granma of the Cuban league before defecting from his Caribbean Communist homeland last year, was an all-tournament player for Cuba in the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
