South African fifth seed Kevin Anderson rallied to defeat Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 2-6, 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/3) in a first-round match at the $531,000 ATP San Jose Open.
South African fifth seed Kevin Anderson, pictured here on January 20, has rallied to defeat Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov 2-6, 7-6 (7/5), 7-6 (7/3) in a first-round match at the $531,000 ATP San Jose Open.
Anderson hit his 14th and 15th aces of the match to push the third set into a tie-breaker, then won five of the final six points in the tie-breaker to claim the victory after two hours and 27 minutes on Monday.
