FC Basel boosted their chances of a place in the Champions League quarter-finals with a shock 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in the last 16 first-leg tie on Wednesday.
FC Basel's midfielder Valentin Stocker (C) celebrates with teammate forward Alexander Frei (L) after he scored against Bayern Munich's goalkeeper Manuel Neuer (R) during their UEFA Champions League round of sixteen first leg football match between Swiss football club FC Basel versus Germany's Bayern Munich at the St. Jakob stadium in Basel. FC Basel won 1-0.
Having beaten Manchester United 2-1 in Basel last December, the hosts pulled off another stunning victory when midfielder Valentin Stocker found the target in the 86th minute having been left unmarked by the Munich defence.
