PATTAYA : A tense struggle for supremacy in the 2009 Byte Cll Asian C'ships and the Youth Olympic Games Qualifier has developed between Thailand champion Keerati Bualong and Singaporean challenger Nathan Tang.
At the end of the second day on Thursday, Keerati was a few points clear of his Singaporean tormentor but in the somewhat lighter northeasterlies of yesterday's races, Nathan, with two firsts, closed the gap on Keerati, to be equal first on 19 points apiece.
The ongoing championships are being held off the Royal Varuna Yacht Club, in virtually perfect conditions, with the northeasterly somewhat lighter yesterday, favouring some of the lighter teams.
Singapore has moved in behind third-placed Thai boy Nattawut Peanyaem, in fourth to seventh placings.
The championship continues today with four more races to be decided by tomorrow.
