London celebrates 100-day countdown to Olympics

London Olympic organisers said there is now a real buzz about the 2012 Games as they started the 100-day countdown on Wednesday by unveiling its 'Inspire a generation' motto.

A picture released by the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) shows 260 guardsmen from the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots and Welsh Guards forming a giant "100" at Horse Guards Parade in London to mark 100 days to go until the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The milestone was marked by events in Britain and around the world as London chiefs said they were looking in "great shape" before the sports extravaganza kicks off.
