Viewers left in dark as Euro 2012 kicks off

Cable television operator TrueVisions has failed to resolve its dispute with Euro 2012 Football Championship broadcast rights holder GMM Grammy.

About 2 million True subscribers saw Euro 2012 broadcasts from Channel 3, Channel 5 and Modernine TV cancelled last night during the tournament's opening match between Poland and Greece at 11pm, and again for Russia versus the Czech Republic at 1:45am this morning.

The matches could be seen on terrestrial television but True blocked those stations' broadcasts through its cable and satellite platforms. True showed alternative programmes instead.

Just want to tell you people that True Vision don't want to pay GMM, so its TRUE Vision Fault not GMM,
If you are owner of something, will you give it for free or have a transcation?

    Please give your suggestions

so Udon_Red, GMM negotiates an exclusive contract that is technically not possible to impliment in Thailand, refuses to negotiate and instead tries to screw TrueVisions and its subscribers to gain market share and extra license fees and the best you can say is "Well done Truevision" and cancel your subscription! May you get the cable service you deserve!

The entire football world knew 4 years ago that these games will be played by now.
So I couldn't care less as to whom is responsible for this "TRUE Quality Service".
I'm cheated by True TV, and sick and tired of their failures to provide up to date quality TV according to Western hemispheres standards.

True Gammy are the ones blocking the games. But why didn't Truevision buy the rights too screen games?
Why has this issue not been dealt with before now?
I live in rural Issan, the only farang and only UBC for many kilometers, seems ironic I am the only one who cant watch the Euros.
Well done Truevision I will be 1,568 baht better off next month.

Discussion 13: "Because True Vision is my contract partner , who must delivery services according to contract"

but who is stopping TrueVisions from delivering the content? GMM - but you are blaming TrueVisions!

No wonder True executives can't sort this out this weekend, they're all in pubs watching the football.

EPL is the only thing keeping true visions viable. I am praying to Buddha that GMM can outbid them for the rights next. Will be a mass exodus from true over to GMM and hopefully they can also add some decent channels with the footy.

    @morgo (D9)

You are obviously as detached from reality, as Australia is from the rest of the world.

Nice going True Vision. You take the weekend off and head out for Pattaya, Hua Hin or Suan Pheung for the weekend and leave your customers watching a blank screen.

    @ hillfarang
because there is one point when enough is enough and i'm not willing to pay "a lot" of money and not being able to watch football. And please don't ask why we are complaining now. Better ask, why is it that difficult for all the Thai Channels to figure out well before this event who gonna have the rights. It just look like that just last week someone remembered that we have the EURO 2012, what wouldn't surprise me at all :-)
