No progress in talks with NFL referees as coaches fume

Talks between the National Football League and locked-out referees remained stalled after a session that ended just before the latest angry incident involving coaches and replacement referees.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick (C) yells at an official during their game against the Baltimore Ravens on September 23. NFL officials said they are looking into incidents involving Belichick and Baltimore coach John Harbaugh in Baltimore's 31-30 home victory on Sunday.

The NFL's website reported no progress in talks on Sunday after two days of negotiations last week proved fruitless even as replacements struggled to cope with the speed and physicality of the NFL in the third weekend of play.
