Those who root for Notre Dame include most folks of the Catholic faith _ I'm not sure but I think they might be risking excommunication or something if they don't.
And people who enjoy claiming long-distance, big-name teams as their favorites also cheer, cheer for old Notre Dame. You know the type _ Dallas Cowboy fans from Los Angeles and Yankee fans in Florida.
