Channel 7 gets FA Cup rights

Bangkok Broadcasting and TV (BBTV), the operator of Channel 7, has obtained the rights to broadcast live FA Cup matches from the UK for the next six seasons, according to BBTV managing director Saran Wiruttamawong.

The matches will be aired on all platforms operated by the company and its partners, including satellite TV, cable TV through Media Boom channel and internet via Bugaboo.tv. These channels will broadcast matches for free.

However, 15 important matches in each season will be broadcast only on Channel 7.

The company has budgeted around one billion baht to pay for the copyright fees. It has also implemented measures to ensure there is no "black screen" viewing for the public, he said.
