The Futsal World Cup will again be won by a South American or a European side as only teams from the two continents have made it to today's quarter-finals at Thailand 2012.
Only once before at the World Cup _ in Spain 1996 _ have the quarter-finals had only teams from the two continents.
Of the eight remaining sides at the 2012 World Cup, only Colombia are considered a surprise package to have come this far while the other seven are seen as favourites or contenders.
