Hughes gets another Test chance for Australia

Phil Hughes was handed another chance to resurrect his Australia career after being recalled as a replacement for Ricky Ponting in next week's first Test against Sri Lanka.

Phil Hughes bats for the Australian Chairman's XI against India in Canberra in December 2011. Hughes is in line to replace newly retired Ricky Ponting after being named in the Australian squad for the opening Test against Sri Lanka starting in Hobart next week.

Hughes, who has played for his country 17 times as an opener but not since against New Zealand in December 2011, was preferred ahead of Rob Quiney and Usman Khawaja to fill the void left by the retired Ponting.
