Schwartzel hits 65 for lead

CHON BURI : South Africa's Charl Schwartzel posted a seven-under-par 65 in the opening round to take a one-shot lead at the Thailand Golf Championship yesterday.

Determined to go one better than his second place in the inaugural edition last year, the 28-year-old golfer made seven birdies in a bogey-free round at Amata Spring Country Club.
