Singapore beat Thailand 3-1 in the first leg

Thailand have a mountain to climb in their bid to end a 10-year Asean footbal title drought after losing 3-1 in Singapore in the first leg of the AFF Suzuki Cup final on Wednesday night.

Singapore got off to a fast start with Mustafic Fahrudin opening the scoring from the spot in the 10th minute after Piyaphol Buntao was whistled for tripping veteran striker Aleksandar Duric in the area.
