Former world champion Lewis Hamilton has insisted Mercedes could yet challenge the sport's leading teams when the new Formula One season gets under way.

This year will be the 28-year-old Briton's first season as a Mercedes driver after he joined the team on a three-year contract worth pound sterling15 million ($24 million) per season from UK F1 giants McLaren, the only team he's driven for in his career to date.
