City can put their title defence back on track

There was very likely no happier man at the end of the last round of Premier League fixtures than Roberto Mancini. His team's win over Fulham, coupled with Manchester United's slip-up against Tottenham, has strengthened Manchester City's hopes of mounting a comeback in the league, a crusade they will continue when they play Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday.

There seems to be a renewed sense of hope at Loftus Road since the start of the new year, with talk of Premier League survival under the magician Harry Redknapp gaining steam. However, their performances have been far from great.

Although the signing of Loic Remy is a signal of intent, a concerted team effort will be required if Redknapp is to achieve his aim.
